The safety lab has been running since March 2009 and consists of three parts----full vehicle safety lab, sled safety lab and component/subsystem safety lab.

The safety lab was built up as per GM global standard. The total investment of facilities reached as much as about RMB150 million yuan. The lab is equipped with a variety of test barriers that meets the regulations of China, the USA, Europe and Japan, 33 high speed cameras, 27 dummies covering different ages and genders, a full set of test systems for Pedpro test, and capable of calibration of sensors with dummy’s head, chest and leg as well.

Highlights of the safety lab:

• The first full set of test system for pedestrian protection test around China

• Equipped with the fullest set of barriers around China that meet the global vehicle safety regulations

• Capable of performing the tests as per most of the global vehicle safety regulations, especially well-known as the first lab performing car-to-car test at the same speed.

• The first lab around China capable of simulating the frontal impact with pitching

• Equipped with the fullest team of dummies domestically

• Owning the most high speed cameras domestically
